One of the biggest sources of pride many Americans feel in our country is its reputation as a melting pot. There isn't a nationality on the planet that isn't represented in the U.S. community somewhere. One Southern community goes out of their way to celebrate these ethnicities every year. Down in Nashville, TN the Celebration of Cultures Festival is coming up on its 13th year and each one gets better and better. Held in Nashville's gorgeous
Centennial Park, this celebration focuses on international music, dance, and food. Parents will be delighted to discover the children's section complete with music and learning activities of their own. Little ones will get to make crafts, learn cultural dances, and just have a good time. While the Celebration of Cultures Festival is free, you do want to be sure you have some money on you for the food and drink vendors as well as to browse in the temporary marketplace set up to highlight goods from all over the world.
For many repeat visitors, the Villages are the biggest highlight of the Celebration of Cultures Festival in Nashville. Organizers set up mini villages featuring lots of countries. Some that are featured include Germany, Japan, and Somalia. You will also find these villages for Brazil, Mexico, and Italy. For locals, the early Tennessee village is a fun place to visit and explore their own early history.
