Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Nashville, TN has been around to serve the people since the late 1880. When the Greek immigrants first began coming into Nashville, it became evident that they were in need of a religious center so priests from other cities began coming to Nashville to perform their worship services until 1917. They realized this was too costly so they began saving funds to make their own church. The purchased what was The Wallace School, transformed it into a Greek Orthodox Church, and named it Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. As the need for a larger church became apparent, so a new church was built and opened in 1991. Today the church has a diverse group of Greek-American families. It still maintains the spiritual and cultural roots of the Greek Orthodox people. Many priests through the years including Fr. Nicholas Harbatis, Fr. Mark Arey, Fr. George Vaporis, and most recently Fr. Gregory Hohnholt have served the church. The church today is run by the Parish priest and 9 Parish Council members that are elected to the boars. The Church has many organizations for its parishioners including the Greek Orthodox Ladies Society, Choir Chanters' group, church school program, Young adult league, Circle of Abraham and more. The Holy Trinity Church has many organizations today, which include the modern Greek Language classes, Greek Orthodox Youth of America, Young Adult League to name just a few. This church is a beautiful example of architectural structure and continues to be a landmark and historic attraction.
